- Pre-insulated joints are used to connect insulated aluminium or copper LV overhead cables. They consist of an internal conductive part that forms the electrical connection and an external insulating part with high dielectric and mechanical characteristics.
- Pre-insulated joints provide a perfect watertight seal; the external insulating coating is also resistant to climatic variations, atmospheric agents and ageing, and has sensitive mechanical characteristics.
- Pre-insulated connectors are installed using hexagonal compression; special markings indicate the spaces within which the compression should be performed.
- The GSTA54,6, GSTR10, GSTA16 and GSTA16/10 couplings are designed to withstand full mechanical traction forces.
- They are supplied in packs of 4 pieces (3 phases plus neutral) and are suitably treated internally. The table shows the composition of each pack in detail.
